We've updated the latest draft of Bus Routes as of 10am, today, Tuesday. The transportation team is still working through new enrollments and other requests. Update date/time will be noted on the top of the Transportation website page.
Tomorrow, the teachers and Paraeducators are back...
And just like that, summer is officially on notice.
Their official return to our schools, means classrooms start coming back to life, hallways get a whole lot busier, and we're one big step closer to welcoming our students on Thursday.
And before we turn the page to the week ahead, a HUGE thank you to LEAF for yesterday’s Back-to-School Bash!
The weather tried. It really did, but Ledyard showed up anyway, and it was, in fact, a Bash of Awesomeness. Great families, great organizations, lots of kids, and exactly the kind of community spirit that makes Ledyard such a special place.
Thank you to everyone at LEAF and all of the volunteers and community partners who made it happen!

You know school is getting close when you can hear the marching band at LHS. After a quiet summer, there’s something pretty great about hearing music coming from campus again. The Ledyard High School Marching Colonels are back at work, and little by little, LHS is starting to sound and feel like school again. We’re getting close. Can’t wait to have everyone back.
There’s a lot to know before the first day of school!

If you see a school bus driving around Ledyard today or tomorrow with no kids on it, don’t worry, School doesn’t start until next Thursday.
Our drivers are out testing routes, checking stops, timing runs, and making sure everything is ready for the first day.
Think of it as the school bus version of a dress rehearsal…
So give our drivers a wave if you see them out there. They’re doing the homework now so our students can get where they need to go next Thursday.
Fall Sports Night will be held on Thursday August 13 at 7:00pm in the Ledyard High School Auditorium
SY26-27 Open House Dates for Ledyard Public Schools
2026 Fall Sports Registration is now open online through Arbiter Sports/Family ID. All students must be registered and approved before participating in a practice or try-out. Once you are on the registration site, you will find pertinent dates for our athletic department fall sports meeting (Thursday August 13 at 7pm at Ledyard High School) as well as the start dates for our fall athletic programs (Football-August 13th, All other Fall Sports-August 24th).
Please note, your registration for summer athletics participation does not fulfill your requirement to register and be approved for fall sports participation. All summer (Season 4) athletic offerings will end on Friday August 7th.
BEFORE YOU REGISTER:
Please be sure that our school nursing staff has an updated physical (students physical must be within the last 13 months from the start date of fall sports which is August 13th for football and August 24th for all other sports) on file. You can also upload the physical into our registration site. A pay to participate fee ($100) will need to accompany your child's registration in order to complete the registration process online.
REGISTRATION PROCESS:
A parent/guardian should register by clicking on this link:

Follow these steps:
1. To find your program, click on the link provided by the Organization above and select the registration form under the word Programs.
2. Next click on the green Register Now button and scroll, if necessary, to the Create Account/Log In green buttons. If this is your first time using Family ID (now Arbiter Sports), click Create Account. Click Log In, if you already have an existing account.
3. Create your secure Family ID account by entering the account owner First and Last names (parent/guardian), E-mail address and password. Select I Agree to the Family ID Terms of Service. Click Create Account.
4. You will receive an email with a link to activate your new account. (If you don’t see the email, check your Email filters (spam, junk, etc.).
5. Click on the link in your activation Email, which will log you in to FamilyID.com
6. Once in the registration form, complete the information requested. All fields with a red* are required to have an answer.
7. Click the Continue button when your form is complete.
8. Review your registration summary.
For credit or debit card payment through Arbiter/Family ID (Stripe):
10. Click the green Pay & Submit button
11. On the next screen, click on Proceed to Payment to be directed to the payment processor (Stripe).
12. In Stripe, you may use a credit or debit card to process your payment. Input the cardholder’s full name, the card number, expiration date and CVC code.
13. After you click Pay, you will receive a completion email from the payment processor confirming your payment and an email from Arbiter/Family ID confirming your registration.
At any time, you may login to update your information and to check your registration(s). Please note, in order to be approved for F/R lunch (and have the pay to participate fee waived), you must complete the necessary paperwork with our central office and be listed on Addendum A. If you are not listed on Addendum A through the Central Office, you will not be approved for a payment waiver. To view a completed registration, select the 'Registration' tab on the blue bar. You will receive notification from me via email (directly to the email you utilized for registration) if you are missing items and are not approved or if your child has been approved for the season. Students must be approved before participating and/or trying out for a team.

To allow law enforcement to follow their protocols related to the swatting event, LMS will be dismissing early. All students and staff are safe.
We appreciate the quick, thorough and professional response from law enforcement. Mr. Earley and the entire LMS team are set for an orderly dismissal.
This is an unusual situation and we ask that you follow your existing pick up plans, as we are unable to modify at this time. Students who typically ride the bus will be placed in the bus.

ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF ARE SAFE
A short while ago we received a swatting call (fake threat to illicit disruption and police response) targeting LMS. Based on internet tracking this call came from out of State.
Out of an abundance of caution and at the direction of LPD students were moved temporarily to the GFS gym. We also have additional support at all our schools to ensure that everyone feels safe.
Law-enforcement is moving through their protocols related to this situation. We will share more information as it becomes available. Again, all students are safe and we asked that you did not come to campus so as not to impede and any response from our law-enforcement partners.

We thanked our Board Representatives and wished them the very best as they graduate from the High School as well as transition into the High School - Abigail Suarez, Caitrin Cassidy (LHS) Emmaline Eastbourne & Luke Shipley (LMS). Shine Bright!
The World Famous Harlem Wizards will play at Ledyard High School on Monday May 18, 2026 at 6:30pm. The Wizards will take on a Ledyard team consisting of LPS faculty and staff along with members of the Ledyard Police Department. Tickets are on sale now.
Updated Ledyard High School Athletics Schedule for Thursday April 23
The Ledyard Athletic Boosters Club and Ledyard Police Department are joining forces to take on the Harlem Wizards on Monday May 18 at 6:30pm at Ledyard High School. Tickets are on sale!
Back for our second year, our elementary school drama program performance. Come to the Gales Ferry School gym at 6:00pm April 2nd (doors open at 5:30) to see Spotlight Kids perform the play Aladdin. Tickets and bake sale items are by cash donation at the door.
