Incoming and New Student Transition Information
Invitation to the Incoming Grade 6 Parent Night and Info:
I am inviting you to the Incoming Grade 6 Parent Night at LMS on Wednesday May 27 at 5:30pm in the LMS Auditorium. This can be called an open house, orientation, or parent night. The goal is for the LMS administration to present an overview of the educational program and for you to be more comfortable and aware of the LMS building and expectations.
Please see the agenda below for the plan for the event as well as the Incoming Parent FAQ Spring 2026 document that may address some of your specific questions or concerns. I have included the responses to last year's survey as well for additional information and reference. The goal of the survey that was shared with you was to proactively address your concerns as your child enters the Ledyard Middle School. I hope I was able to answer your questions adequately. Also check out the LMS Virtual Tour Website to get a visual of the LMS building and facilities.
Please click below for the agenda for the Incoming Grade 6 Parent Night below and prepare questions you wish to ask that evening.

From the Last 3 Years: some answers may be slightly different but this FAQ does address some big picture questions too:)
Grade 5 Students Visit to Ledyard Middle School:
On Friday May 22nd, all incoming Grade 5 students from JWL and GHS will join together as the incoming LMS Grade 6 class at LMS. LMS will provide an up close and personal opportunity for the students to meet teachers, see the school, ask questions, and take the first step to becoming a middle school student. Please see the student made Welcome Videos below for more info about LMS and if you can, use them as students prepare for middle school.
