LCS PTO MISSION STATEMENT:
The Ledyard Center School PTO is an organization working to promote programs and activities that serve the needs of the school, its children and the community. Our goal is to foster a positive working relationship between parents and teachers and to provide additional support and financial aid when appropriate. All parents, guardians and teachers are automatically members of the PTO. There are no dues.

LCS PTO MEETING MINUTES:
A NOTE FROM THE PTO OFFICERS:
Our PTO meetings are held once a month at 7:00 pm in the LCS library. We discuss events, plan fundraisers, learn about school happenings and share ideas. Our PTO events and fundraisers provide financial support to improve our children’s learning experiences, such as our Promethean Board goal project, new kitchen, filling teacher requests, playground items, field trips, book author visits and more. Come be a part of a team whose only goal is to improve our children’s lives.
There are so many ways to volunteer your help. An hour or two for an event, baking cookies, chairing an event or helping to set up chairs and tables are all ways to contribute. Even the smallest contribution is helpful!
We encourage the LCS community to get involved with the PTO. Please feel free to contact any board member with any questions, concerns or ideas. Everyone’s input is welcome. Hope to see you at the next meeting!

PTO FAMILY EVENTS:
The PTO runs many family events during the year. All the proceeds from these events directly benefit our school. Volunteering is an important role in providing these events to our children. Any contribution that you can make is valuable and greatly appreciated. Please consider volunteering for any of the events listed below. Never volunteered before? No worries – an event chair person will contact you and let you know exactly what to do! It’s fun and rewarding!
Volunteering won’t fit into your schedule? That’s okay, come join the event! Meet other LCS families and have fun.
HALLOWEEN NIGHT: |
Each year on Halloween, LCS students and their younger siblings parade their costumes and Trick or Treat in the safe corridors of the school. |
BINGO NIGHT: |
Everyone has a blast playing LCS Bingo and the pizza and prizes make the evening even more fun. |
BASKET BASH: |
A festive event in early December which provides on occasion for students, parents and friends to join together in holiday spirit. Carolers, basket raffles, treats and more make this a fantastic event. |
TALENT SHOW: |
Our LCS students love this event as they can show their talents to their friends and family. This event is very successful and lots of fun. |
FAMILY DANCE NIGHT: |
Dance the night away with your family and friends at LCS annual Dance Night. This year our Dance Night will have a surprise theme! |
MOVIE NIGHT: |
Wear your pajamas, bring your pillow and watch a movie with your friends. Snacks and fun all evening! |
ROLLER SKATING: |
Galaxy Roller Rink in Groton is the host for this popular, private skating party for LCS students and their families. |
SURPRISE EVENT: |
In May we will have a surprise event which will be announced to the school a month prior. As with all our events, this one will be loads of fun too! |
FAMILY FUN DAY: |
Families come together for a day of games, music, food and prizes to celebrate the end of the school year. |
PTO SERVICES:
Pizza Lunch on Thursdays, Ice Cream Treats on Tuesdays, Health Snacks provided on Challenge Day, Ledyard Center School Yearbook
PTO FUNDRAISERS:
LCS PTO offers many Fundraising opportunities that directly benefit the staff and students at Ledyard Center School. Programs like author visits, mobile wireless laptops, audio enhancement systems in the classrooms, field trip support and Promethean Boards are all possible because of the effort made by parents, volunteers and staff at Ledyard Center. In addition to the fundraising events that the PTO sponsors, there are many reward programs available that can benefit our school directly, with very little time and effort required to set them up.
