Gallup Hill School, located on the southeastern side of the Ledyard Public School District, enrolls approximately 350 students in grade pre-K through grade 6. The school community is committed to the growth of our students both academically and socially. Through the LPS academic curriculum, we prepare our students in the fundamentals of literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies. We are proud of the yearly growth made by our students in reading, writing, and mathematics. Information regarding students’ academic progress can be found at the school on our data wall. All students participate in art, physical education, music, library, and computer classes. To promote the social development of our students, faculty members at Gallup Hill have been trained in Responsive Classroom and implement components of this social curriculum in their classrooms. Our students are instructed in positive social skills through C.A.R.E.S. – Cooperation, Advocacy, Respect, Effort, and Self-Control. At Gallup Hill School communication is a high priority. Monthly newsletters are sent home regularly and are available on this website. We have a dedicated and active PTO committed to improving the learning environment for our students. We also welcome the many volunteers who work within the classrooms assisting students with academics and social skills. Together we nurture our students and help them mature and develop to their full potential.
