Parking Lot Expectations

PICK-UP/DROP-OFF/PARKING

Parents who drop off students should use the right side of the main parking lot. Students should be dropped off in front of the school directly on the sidewalk. This is the safest drop-off point for our students.

Parents are reminded that the small overflow lot IS NOT a drop off area. All drop-offs should be in the main driveway. Consideration and cooperation with this expectation is appreciated. The overflow parking should be used for parents who park their cars and escort their students into the building. Parents can also park in the main parking lot if escorting students into the building.

School buses will use the left side of the parking lot. Students riding buses will be dropped off at the cross-walk where the crossing guard will stop the lines of traffic until the bus is unloaded.

Special education transport will drop off in the right lane next to the sidewalk to meet the physical and medical needs of some of our students.

In the afternoons, parents should use the main driveway for pick-ups. The overflow lot is not a “drive through” pick up area. As with the morning, those parents who wish to park and exit from their car may use the overflow lot. At dismissal time, buses will leave the school grounds prior to the dismissal of walkers, bike riders, and pick-ups.

PLEASE REMEMBER – THE MAIN DRIVEWAY AND OVERFLOW LOT ARE ONE-WAY. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH TRAFFIC DIRECTIONS WILL RESULT IN A REPORT TO THE LEDYARD POLICE DEPARTMENT.
