Welcome to Naviance Family Connection!! There are 6 main sections in Family Connection:
The Homepage followed by 5 Tabs; Courses, Colleges, Careers, About Me and My Planner.
Here are some of the features within each section to explore:
Homepage
The Welcome Page will have announcements posted giving you information about upcoming events for the college planning process.
Courses Tab

Interesting Courses & Thoughts about my course plans
Use these pages to indicate courses you may want to take and also to jot down your thoughts about your course plans for middle school, high school, and what you want to do after high school. You can come back and edit this page any time if you have new ideas.

Manage my course plans & View my current multi-year plan
Using the Course Planner, you can choose the type of plan you want to build, pick courses, and find out how well your plan will prepare you for your goals. Build as many plans as you want using four simple steps.
Colleges Tab

Colleges I’m Thinking About and Colleges I’m Applying To
Students can keep track of colleges in which they are interested or have decided to apply.

Super Match
By answering questions in the Find Your Best Fit you will be able to narrow your list of colleges by selecting where you would like to attend school, major, size of school etc.

College Match and College Compare
College Match analyzes applications from other students at LHS to find colleges that have accepted students with a GPA and test scores similar to those of your child. Similarly, students can enter a list of schools into College Compare to view LHS student acceptance statistics quickly and easily.
College Lookup
This research tool provides comprehensive information on thousands of colleges. In addition to general and admissions information, further data is presented on academics, cost and financial aid, student body characteristics, extracurricular and athletic programs. For colleges to which LHS students (Class of 2010 – present) have applied, there is statistical information on numbers applying, admitted, and enrolled with a link to a “scattergram” graph.
College Search
Enter criteria such as size, location, cost, availability of specific majors or athletic programs, and students can produce a list of colleges that meet their criteria.
College Resources
This feature found under “College Research”, provides links to other useful websites relating to college information, financial aid, tests preparation, NCAA eligibility, etc.
College Maps
The maps show where LHS students have been accepted to college and where students attend.
Scattergrams
A graphical view of application outcomes (accepted, denied, waitlisted) at a college for recent LHS applicants, using GPA and SAT scores. Students can gauge their chances of acceptance by comparing personal GPA/SAT numbers with those displayed.
College Visit Schedule
College representatives who will be attending the LHS college fair in October will be posted online under “My Colleges”. Click on “Upcoming College Visits”.

Scholarship Match and List
This feature shows scholarships that may be a suitable match for you. If a scholarship is listed as "no restrictions found", this means that your school did not enter any qualifications for the scholarship that would indicate you are ineligible such as gender, ethnicity, minimum GPA, etc. Some scholarships on this list may still have special requirements that are not listed on this site and you should verify your eligibility with the scholarship organization or your counselor if uncertain. Scholarship applications can be found in the Career Center unless otherwise noted.
Careers Tab

Favorite Careers & Clusters – Explore Careers & Clusters
This tool can help you discover the types of work activities and careers that match your interests. The interest profiler has questions about work activities that people do at their jobs.

Cluster Finder
Find career clusters that match your interests and personal qualities.
The Cluster Finder will help you learn what career clusters may be a good match for you based on activities that interest you, personal qualities that you have and subjects that you enjoy studying in school.
Career Interest Profiler
The Career Interest Profiler includes useful reports that show each student’s personality and interest assessment results and which careers you may want to explore.
About Me Tab

Goals
Students set an annual goal for academic, career, and personal/social development.
Tasks
Students are assigned tasks related to grade level and academic, career and personal/social development.

Portfolio
Each student’s portfolio will have information that will include: personal information, goal planning, career planning, academic planning, and college planning. Student Success Plan task completion and status will be tracked.
Favorite Colleges
Students can keep track of colleges in which they are interested or have decided to apply.
Favorite Careers and Clusters
This tool can help you discover the types of work activities and careers that match your interest. The interest profiler has questions about work activities that people do at their jobs.
Personality Type
Do What You Are helps students focus on who they are and what educational path is best for them. LHS students complete this during their Sophomore year. Students receive helpful Personality Type information as well as individual suggestions for careers and college majors.
Learning Style
When completed this report is based on your responses to questions about the kind of environment and methods you prefer when learning new or difficult material. From research, we know that people prefer to learn differently from one another. Once you identify your preferences, you can be more productive and learn more easily and successfully.
Resume
Using the Resume Builder, you can tell us everything about yourself. Then, rearrange your information into multiple printable versions that you can use for whatever you need! The Resume Builder has just 3 easy steps: Add entries, Rearrange the Contents, Save & Print.
Game Plan
This is a series of questions that are designed to help your counselor work with you to develop a game plan for achieving your goals after graduation. You can update your answers to these questions at any time even after you indicate that you are finished and your answers are not shared with anyone other than your counselor.
Documents, Journal, Checklist, Completed Surveys
This area will be used during the college planning process to keep personal records of your progress. Surveys including a Brag Sheet will be found in this area to complete for recommendation letters etc. Seniors will be required to complete the “Senior Survey” prior to graduation. The data from this survey will be necessary to keep our LHS acceptance history information and scattergram accurate.

Profile, Account
These areas contain personal data and change your password if necessary.
Test Scores
SAT I, SAT Subject Tests and ACT scores will be imported from school records.
My Planner Tab

Overview, Goals, To-do List, Tasks Assigned to Me
These areas contain a planner that can be used to assist you in personal organizational skills. This area also contains personal data.
