Fencing at Ledyard achieved official team status in the 2008 season.
Ledyard High joins other ECC schools in competitive foil fencing up to and including State level competition. The team has their own equipment which new fencers can borrow for the season.
The fencing season runs the first Monday after Thanksgiving until the second week in March. Practice is five days per week from 2:30 until 5:00 PM and we meet in the Cafeteria. Tournaments are on Saturdays and the schedule is posted below.
Fencing is run under the pay for play system. Parental involvement is encouraged. Bus transportation is provided to competitions and the coaching staff is CIAC qualified.
