How to Save to Your Network Folder
When you log on to the Ledyard Schools network, your network folder is automatically mapped to drive H: on the local computer. Files saved to drive H: will be accessible when you sign into any Ledyard Schools domain computer. In the example below, user studentx’s H: drive is highlighted.

Microsoft Word is used for this demonstration. The steps for saving from other programs are essentially identical.
1. Create you document.

2. When you are ready to save your document, click ‘File’, then ‘Save As’.

3. Click the down arrow next to the ‘Save In’ box to expand the drop-down list. Click the line that begins with your username.

4. The contents of your network drive will appear. Type the name you wish to save your file as in the ‘File name’ box, then click ‘Save’.

5. You will be returned to the program.

To open a file previously saved to your network drive, click the ‘Start’ button, then click ‘My Computer’.

Double-click drive H: (The one that contains your username).

A window will open containing the contents of your network drive. Double click the file you wish to work on.

When you are finished working with the file, follow the directions to save a file above.
