Peer Mediation is an appropriate and effective system to deal with conflict in the school setting. The use of mediation to resolve school-based disputes can result in improved communication between and among students, teachers, administrators, and parents. It can also result in a reduction in violence, vandalism, chronic school absence and suspension as well as provide a forum for addressing common concerns and improving the overall school climate.
