Kindergarten Enrollment Information

2020-2021 Kindergarten Enrollment Announcement

We are excited to share kindergarten enrollment information for the 2020-2021 school year. To be eligible for kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year, children must attain the age of 5 on or before January 1, 2021.

Each year we look forward to welcoming our new kindergarten students and their families. Usually, this process involves your children coming to the school for a screening and a kindergarten orientation prior to the end of our current school year. The kindergarten screening provides us with an opportunity to get to know more about your child’s school readiness, helps us plan for class placement, and, more importantly, gives us a chance to meet you and your child. Kindergarten Orientation is a chance for us to inform you about our school, and your child’s kindergarten experience, along with giving our incoming kindergarten students a chance to visit our school while it is still in session.

We truly look forward to this introduction and this year is no exception, however, the process will be a little different. Due to our current school closure, as a result of the Coronavirus, we will be postponing our kindergarten screenings and orientation until later in the year. The revised dates for screening and orientation will be finalized as soon as we have more information about the current school closing timeline.

Kindergarten registration will remain open from now through the summer months however, the sooner we receive your registration paperwork the better. Registration helps us to prepare for the next school year and connects us with you early on in the process so we can continue to keep you updated about school events and provide you with information to support you and your child.

Please fill out the forms found below on this page and either email them to the school secretary or mail them directly to the school. Please include proof of residency and proof of your child’s age. If your child's physical is not completed yet, you can send that at a later date. Our school secretaries and nurses will review all the necessary paperwork and contact you if additional information is needed.

During these challenging times, please know that Ledyard Public Schools staff are here to help you and support you through the registration process. It is truly an exciting time as your child begins their school experience. We can’t wait to meet them!
