Welcome to Ledyard Public Schools

Superintendent Hartling

Winter 2019

During the holiday season, we often reflect on the past year and the people and events that shaped its course. It is a time for many to celebrate our accomplishments and a time to give thanks. At Ledyard Public Schools, we have a lot for which to be thankful.

Following three years of major construction, Gallup Hill and Ledyard Middle Schools are now transformed into state-of-the-art facilities. We continue to adjust and work through the dynamics of these new and much larger facilities and student populations. Our elementary schools continue their work around early literacy and building our students' love of reading. Ledyard High School, after a long and rigorous accreditation process, has been officially reaccredited. The Ledyard Transition Academy is thriving with students working in local businesses and developing important life skills. Ledyard students have made great strides in academics, sports, and the performing arts, for which the entire community can be proud.

The district has welcomed many new teachers, administrators, and staff who bring a wealth of knowledge and new ideas to Ledyard Public Schools and we are continually grateful for the support and volunteer commitment from our Ledyard Public School families.

I wish you the very best this holiday season.
